After our 2 week hiatus, Ricardo and I return to Beers, Beats & Bailey to discuss (FINALLY) the major movie & TV trailers launched during the 2017 San Diego Comic Con, the unfortunate passing of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the WWE Studios-helmed sci-fi drama “Sleight” and what may very well be another masterpiece in Christopher Nolan’s oeuvre, the war film “Dunkirk”.

Whilst acknowledging the untimely passings of Devon Matthews, George A. Romero and Martin Landau (R.I.P.s), Ricardo and I talk about the recent D23 Expo, the 2017 Emmy nominees, HBO’s 4-part mini-series “The Defiant Ones” and the bizarrely provocative French-Belgian “horror” film “Raw”, in addition to recapping the films which led to arguably one of the best movies of the year – “War for the Planet of the Apes”.

BBB S03E22 – THE RISE AND FALL OF D.O.D.O (Book Review), AMERICAN GODS (Season 1), CASTLEVANIA (Season 1), SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

In today’s episode, Ricardo reviews the sci-fi fantasy novel from Neal Stephenson and Nicole Galland entitled “The Rise and Fall of D.O.D.O”, followed by our reviews of the Starz dark fantasy series based on the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name “American Gods”, the short but very promising first season of Netflix’s animated video game adaptation “Castlevania” and Spider-Man’s first movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe “Spider-Man: Homecoming”. In addition, we pay tribute to Joan Lee and Nelsan Ellis (R.I.P.).
